Partnerships
We proudly partner with like-minded organizations,
fostering relationships that amplify our shared goals of providing care, shelter, and second chances to animals in need.
By joining forces with community outreach groups, and leveraging support from local businesses,
we are building a network of compassion and action.
Together, we address not only immediate needs but also systemic challenges,
ensuring that every pawprint leaves a mark of hope on the path forward.
About The Society For Companion Animals: Where second chances take flight
At Oak Hill Animal Rescue, our hearts are full as we join an extraordinary mission to give dogs from southern Texas a second chance at life. In an area overwhelmed by the pet population crisis, these precious pups are transported to northern states, where loving homes eagerly await them.

Through this life-saving partnership, OHAR welcomes these dogs at the airport, providing them with a safe haven at our shelter. Here, they find warmth, nourishment, and the care they deserve—along with plenty of long walks and gentle encouragement as they prepare for the next leg of their journey.
Every wagging tail reminds us why we do this:
To help these deserving souls find the forever families they’ve been dreaming of.
From start to finish, OHAR is honored to walk alongside them, making hope and love their ultimate destination.
About Angie's Friends: A Lifeline for West Dallas Dogs
In the heart of West Dallas, many dogs face unimaginable hardships, tethered in yards with
no access to food, water, or proper shelter.
Angie's Friends, a compassionate community outreach organization, is dedicated to changing the lives of these vulnerable animals. Through regular visits, the team provides essential resources like food and medical care, bringing hope and relief to dogs in desperate situations.

Oak Hill Animal Rescue proudly partners with Angie's Friends to amplify these lifesaving efforts.
Together, we supply food, education,
medications, and—when needed—temporary shelter for pets requiring urgent placement.
This partnership exemplifies the power of teamwork in transforming despair into hope, one dog at a time.

Every meal served, every leash loosened, and every life saved reflects a shared commitment
to a brighter future for the dogs of West Dallas.
The Healing Power of Paws: OHAR’s Visits to Senior Communities
At Oak Hill Animal Rescue, we believe in the powerful bond between humans and animals—especially when it comes to bringing comfort, joy, and healing to those who need it most. That’s why we regularly take our adoptable dogs and cats on special visits to retirement homes, senior centers, and hospice facilities throughout the community.
These visits go far beyond tail wags and purrs. For many residents, especially those facing isolation or chronic health conditions, a visit from a furry friend offers real therapeutic benefits. Animal-assisted interactions have been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, ease symptoms of depression and anxiety, and even improve memory and social engagement among older adults.
Whether it’s a calm cat curled up on a lap or a friendly dog wagging their way through the halls, the animals of OHAR bring warmth and companionship wherever they go. These moments of connection create lasting smiles—for the residents and our rescue animals, who thrive on the attention and affection.
Bridging the gap between rescue and community care, OHAR is proud to offer this form of animal therapy. It’s a reminder that love and healing come in many forms—and sometimes, they have four legs and a wagging tail.

If you know a senior center, hospice, or retirement community that would benefit from a visit, please contact us.
Together, we can share the joy of animal companionship with those who need it most.
