About
Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc.

Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc. (OHAR), with offices located near Dallas, Texas is a non-profit animal welfare organization started by Jim and Bettye Baker in 2006.  A non-breed specific rescue, OHAR also works closely with the Metroplex Animal Shelters to rescue highly adoptable dogs and cats subject to euthanasia when the shelters run out of room.

Our Mission is Compassion in Action
To show by example the simplest ways to make a difference in the lives of animals.

Our Vision is to

  • Save Lives
  • To be recognized for the highest standards and integrity in rescue
  • Educate the public on euthanasia rates and effective spay/neuter philosophies
  • To end the needless suffering of animals anywhere we see it

Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc. is a registered Petsmart Partner and offers  weekly adoption events at various Petsmart Stores in the Metroplex.  Applicants are screened and humane education provided to new homes on pet care and the long term commitment to this new family member.

OHAR also participates and supports activities sponsored by the Dallas Companion Animal Project, The Society for Companion Animals and other humane organizations to better the lives of all animals.  We provide these services based solely on the generosity of public and private donations.
